ParisCombo2.jpg.One of the most distinct, intriguing groups on the international music scene, Paris Combo celebrates a rich diversity of world styles—and deposits them in the setting of a chic Parisian cabaret. Fronted by chanteuse, songwriter, and accordionist Belle du Berry, the quintet has found a jazzy and intriguing twist on the French song-book tradition. After five albums (the latest, titled simply 5, is the reason for this don’t-miss U.S. tour) and a decade touring the globe, Paris Combo has wowed critics and audiences with its genre-defying mix of jazz, French pop, cabaret, gypsy, Latino and Middle Eastern rhythms. The Los Angeles Times came close to categorizing the Combo, comparing it to swing-revivalists Squirrel Nut Zippers and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, but Billboard simplified it even further: “The coolest sounds on either side of the Atlantic.”

Presented by: Town Hall as part of its Global Rhythms series, curated by Brian Faker. Series supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, ArtsWA, 4Culture, Wyncote Foundation NW, and Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. Series media sponsorship provided by KBCS 91.3 FM.
