Growing Transit Communities

Great Hall; Enter on Eighth Avenue. Free, registration required.

Growing transit
Community

With more than $15 billion allotted for future regional transit investments, community and economic growth is a critical step in moving forward. “Growing Transit Communities” looks at key strategies in housing, community and economic development in relation to unfolding transit projects. Learn about the necessity of people and place interactions for the advancement of a sustainable infrastructure. Joining the discussion are Shelley Poticha, Director of the Urban Solutions Program, National Resources Defense Council; Fred Kent, President of The Project for Public Spaces, New York, NY; and Gary L. Cunningham, Vice President and Chief Program Officer of the Northwest Area Foundation, St. Paul, MN. This moderated panel is followed by a strategic conversation on implementing the discussion locally. With recent King County Metro cutbacks, this discussion on regional transit opportunities and community investments is more important than ever.

Presented by: Puget Sound Regional Council.

Where did you hold this event? I am new to town and naively used maps.google.com to find Puget Sound Regional Council for transit directions to the wrong location. Except for the comment “Enter off Eighth Avenue” there is no direction to interested, direction-challenged people.
The receptionist at the PSRC office on Madison was very helpful.
I will Google search for your transcript of the panel discussion.
