Become a Town Hall Member Today

As our Tenth Anniversary Season draws to a close, I write to thank you for being a part of Town Hall Seattle’s community of artists, presenters, and audiences. We hope you’ve enjoyed an event (or three, or six) here this season—and as we build an exciting calendar for next, we also hope you’ll take a moment to become a Town Hall member today.

Town Hall was founded at the turn of the millennium—a time of seismic cultural, political, and technological change. Our idea of a diverse, democratic, ‘actual’ place for people to gather in dialogue and community has flourished, in parallel with the dramatic expansion of ‘virtual’ venues that extend these values online. In just ten years, and against the odds, Town Hall has cemented its role as a place for folks from across the region to share our creativity, ideas, and concerns; a place to celebrate our successes, and to mourn our losses.

Combining over 100 self-produced events with programs from dozens of community partners, our fast-paced calendar has whizzed from Seattle Baroque Orchestra to Accordi-O-Rama, from Joseph Stiglitz on the financial crisis to Howard Dean on health care reform; from Margaret Atwood to Sherman Alexie to Atul Gawande; from children’s choirs and community orchestras to the King/Snohomish Regional Spelling Bee. And this season closes strong—controversial economist Simon Johnson will discuss breaking up megabanks; cellist Joshua Roman and pianist Helen Huang will play a new sonata; author Christopher Hitchens will chat with Too Beautiful to Live host Luke Burbank; and Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus will frame out his ideas for socially responsible business.

Join Town Hall today and ensure that we can continue to offer this uncommonly wide range of events.
